  Payment of Fees

The fee may be paid in cash to the school Bursar/Accountant or through bank draft crossed in favor of Payee’s Account only. Cheques are also acceptable.

The fees of boarders include tuition, boarding & lodging, messing, haircut, washing etc. These, however, do not include extras like pocket money, books & stationery, educational tours, exam fees, extra kit items, etc.

The fee of day scholars and day boarders is drawn on monthly basis in advance. The fee must be submitted by the 10th of each month after which a late fee fine of Rs 5 per day will be imposed till the last date of the month. At the end of the month the student’s name will be struck off the school rolls.

The fee of boarders is drawn on quarterly basis and must be submitted by the due date for each quarter failing which a fine of Rs. 10 per day will be charged till the last day of each quarter. The student’s name will be struck off the rolls if the fee is not paid till the end of the quarter.

Readmission is the discretion of the Principal and depends on the availability of seats. It will be granted only on payment of the full admission fee, late fee fine and other outstanding dues, if any.

No reduction in fees will be made for broken periods of attendance. In case of prolonged absence exceeding one month due to illness, supported by medical certificate, the Principal may, at his discretion, allow a concession of 50% in the amount of fee only to a boarder for the period of continued absence.

A day scholar who joins the school on any date during the month shall have to pay the fee for the entire academic year, while the boarder shall pay full fee of the quarter in which he joins and 25% of the total fee for the previous quarter.

No student will be given School Leaving Certificate until all the dues have been paid, including full fee for the month during which the request for the certificate has been made or the student’s name was struck off the school rolls.

No student particularly the boarder is allowed to sit in any public examination or the school annual examination unless his/her accounts have been paid in full by the date the examination begins.

  Financial Aid

Modernage gives all students equal opportunity for financial aid, regardless of race, color, religion, age, national or ethnic origin or sex.

While Modernage subscribes to the philosophy that primary responsibility of meeting costs of education rests with the family, it also realizes that there are families who do not have available means to send their children to a private institution. In recognition of this fact, Modernage uses every possible means to bridge the gap between family resources and educational expenditures.

Financial Aid, consisting of scholarships, grants, loans and work opportunities, is offered to students who cannot provide the full cost of education through their own and their families’ reasonable efforts. The primary purpose of Financial Aid is to provide assistance to students who, without such aid, would be unable to receive education.

The family is expected to make a maximum effort to assist the student with educational expenses and any financial aid should be viewed only as supplementary to the efforts of the family.

Financial Aid at Modernage is offered on the basis of financial need. Some of the factors that are taken into consideration in determining the family’s financial strength are: current income, number of dependents, other educational expenses, debt, retirement needs and unusual circumstances.

The students must reapply for aid each year. A student may assume that Modernage will provide comparable financial assistance in subsequent years. However, as family circumstances and/or availability of institutional funding change, so may the amount or distribution of financial aid.

There are three types of Financial Aid:

1.                  Scholarships & Grants

2.                  Loans

3.                  Work Opportunities

Item 1 consists of aid that does not have to be repaid. Item 2 is money which must be repaid. Item 3 is a part time employment opportunity which covers a portion of educational costs.

In order to receive/retain the financial aid a student must have at least average standing in academics.

Application Procedure For Financial Aid

An application for the grant of financial aid (available from Admission Office) must be submitted by the 15th of February each year. For Intermediate classes the application must be submitted by the 15th of April. It normally takes four to six weeks to process the application at the end of which the most deserving applicants receiving the aid are informed.

1.                  Grants: Grants are offered to students who, without such assistance would be unable to attend Modernage. The basic requirement for consideration is financial need and good academic standing. In this regard the following are offered:

·        The Miller Foundation Pakistan

·        Dr Saira Butt Scholarship

·        Ms Shahina Saleem Scholarship:

·        Academic Scholarship provided by the College: This scholarship is awarded to the needy students who are excellent in academics

·        Sports Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded only in badminton to the needy students.

2.       Loans: Loans are an important financial aid resource provided to those students whose parents are willing to pay for part of their child’s educational expenses with their future earnings. No interest has to be paid on the loans taken. The repayment begins six months after academic session commences. The loan has to be completely returned at the end of the academic year.

3.      Work Opportunities: This type of financial aid is available for those students who are willing to

take up part time jobs available at the campus. These include tuition, gardening, arts projects, etc.
